Garrison and Johnson Finish in Top 25 at Linger Longer Invitational

Redshirt sophomore Tyler Johnson finishes 4-under-par in the final round to elevate into top 15
GREENSBORO, Ga. – Junior Brayden Garrison and redshirt sophomore Tyler Johnson led the No. 22 University of Tennessee men's golf team at the Linger Longer Invitational.
In his first event of the spring season, Johnson was the top Vol player on the individual leaderboard finishing tied for 15th with a final score of 215 (-1). The Knoxville, Tenn. native was playing as an individual in the tournament.

This is the third time this season Johnson has placed inside of the top 25 after tying for fourth at the Inverness Intercollegiate and tying for 10th at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.

He had the lowest round of any Tennessee player this week in the final round on, carding a 68 (-4). His final round helped him elevate 23 spots as only two other players on the course had a lower round on Sunday.

Joining Johnson in the top 25 on the leaderboard was Garrison who bookended his week with rounds of 72 (E) in the opening round and a 71 (-1) in the final round. Garrison has a quick start to his day as he was bogey free and 3-under-par through 11 holes. The Nolensville, Tenn. native spent nearly his entire day at or below par.

Garrison tied for 21st in the tournament finishing with a 54-hole total of 216 (E).

This is the third-straight event Garrison has finished inside of the top 25 on the individual leaderboard dating back to the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in October.

As a team, Tennessee placed 13th in the event with a three-round total of 886 (+22).
