Tennessee tees off second tournament of spring in Greensboro, Ga.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 22 University of Tennessee men's golf team takes part in its second tournament of the spring schedule in Greensboro, Ga. at the Linger Longer Invitational.
The field features 15 teams with the Vols entering as one of three Southeastern Conference teams as they are joined by No. 24 Alabama and No. 15 Georgia. The field also includes top-25 teams in No. 21 Liberty, No. 25 Louisville.
Since the tournament's inception in 2006, an SEC school has won the event 10 times with the Crimson Tide returning to The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee as defending champions. Additionally, an SEC player has claimed the individual title in the tournament the last nine years.
Tennessee finished fifth at the Southwestern Invitational in Westlake Village, Calif. to start the spring season. The Vols finished just behind four of the five top ranked teams in California including No. 7 USC, No. 12 Pepperdine and No. 16 Cal.
