GOLF CENTRAL: Florida Atlantic Winter Warm Up

Lady Vols tee off their spring season in Boca Raton, Fla.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Tennessee women's golf team tees off its spring schedule in Boca Raton, Fla. at the Florida Atlantic Winter Warm Up.
The field features seven teams with the Lady Vols entering as the top-ranked team in the field according to the latest GolfStat.com rankings. Tennessee enters the spring No. 37 in the rankings.
UT completed the fall slate of tournaments with three consecutive top three finishes which included a victory at the Starmount Classic.
The Lady Vols most recent result came at the Trinity Forest in late October where they finished as the runner-up in the field, placing in front of three top-50 teams in Oregon State, Colorado and SMU.
Mikayla Bardwell, Malia Stovall and Ariana Macioce all placed inside of the top 10 while Waverly Whiston was one stroke away from joining them in the top 10, finishing tied for 14th in Dallas.
Micheala Williams, a 2018 NCAA Championship individual qualifier, and Mariah Smith who is third on the team in stoke average bookend the Tennessee lineup this week, joined by Macioce, Whiston and Bardwell. Stovall will compete as an individual at Osprey Point Golf Club.
Tomorrow's first round is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. (ET) with the Lady Vols paired with host Florida Atlantic and Brown for the first and second round.
The Lady Vols' Lineup
Micheala Williams
The Athens, Ala. native will make her sixth start of the season for Tennessee this season. The junior finished the fall season with a pair of top 10 finishes and with one more this spring would tie her career high.
Ariana Macioce
The senior completed the fall season with three consecutive top-10 finished. Over those three tournaments, she has a stroke average of 73.87 including six of eight rounds at 74 or below.
Waverly Whiston
The sophomore finished the fall season with three top-20 finishes in her last four starts for the Lady Vols. Whiston is coming off of a season-best finish after tying for 14th at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational.
Mikayla Bardwell
Bardwell, who is one of two players to play in the lineup in every tournament this season, has counted her score in each of the 13 rounds she has played in. The freshman has a team-best 72.92 stroke average entering the spring season.
Mariah Smith
The sophomore, who recently accepted an invitation to play in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, is tied for a team-high four rounds of par or better this season. Smith finished inside of the top 25 twice in five starts this fall including tying for fourth at the Starmount Classic.
Lady Vol Individual
Malia Stovall
Stovall, who enters the tournament second on the team in stroke average, will play her fifth tournament of the her freshman campaign and second as an individual.
