WTEN CENTRAL: Lady Vols vs. Indiana/South Florida

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee women's tennis team continues its homestand this weekend with home matches against Indiana and South Florida.

The Lady Vols' will face off against Indiana on Friday at 11:30 a.m., before capping off the weekend on Sunday at 12 p.m. against South Florida.Â

The two matches are part of an 11-match homestand for the Lady Vols.

Indiana (6-2) has registered wins over Cincinnati, Butler, James Madison and Saint Louis this season. The trip to Knoxville will be Indiana's first road match this season. The match between Tennessee and the Hoosiers also marks the 34th straight season that the two schools have met (every season since 1986).

South Florida (4-3) has lost three matches this season, but two of those came to opponents currently ranked in the top 25 (LSU and Georgia).

The Lady Vols and Bulls have had one common opponent thus far this season. South Florida fell to LSU on Jan. 19, 6-1, while the Tigers defeated Tennessee 4-1 at ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Jan. 26. South Florida travels to Kentucky to take on the No. 23 Wildcats on Friday before facing Tennessee on Sunday.

Tennessee is coming off of a weekend doubleheader that saw the Lady Vols split two matches. UT dropped a closely contested match to Old Dominion, 4-3, followed by a 4-0 victory over Presbyterian.

About The Series: The Lady Vols hold an all-time record of 21-15 against the Hoosiers, including a 12-5 mark in Knoxville. Tennessee has won 19 of the past 24 meetings, dating back to 1995.

Tennessee holds a 5-0 all-time advantage over South Florida, with the last meeting coming in 2011. The 2011 meeting is the only match between the two schools since 1995.

Hammond, Staines Crack Top 20: Sadie Hammond and Kaitlin Staines moved up as a doubles team to the No. 17 spot in the ITA's doubles rankings. Hammond and Staines' No. 17 ranking is the highest by a Tennessee doubles team since Caitlyn Williams and Joanna Henderson were ranked No. 16 in the 2014-15 preseason poll.

Silva in Midst of Hot Streak: Dating back to the fall, Johanna Silva has won 15 of her past 17 singles matches, including a 2-0 mark this past weekend against Old Dominion and Presbyterian.
