Vols Close ITA All-American Qualifying Draw

TULSA, Okla. – Tennessee's Pat Harper and Luca Wiedenmann were eliminated from the singles qualifying round at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Tuesday at the Case Tennis Center.

Harper, a sophomore from Brisbane, Australia, fell to Andres Martin from Georgia Tech, 1-6, 2-6. Harper ends his run having won five matches over four days of competition.

Wiedenmann met Jake Sands from Southern California, dropping his match to the Trojan in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 4-6.

Three Vols – Scott Jones, Mark Wallner and Martim Prata – played in consolation matches Tuesday, going 2-1. Jones defeated Joel Gamerov from San Diego in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Wallner faced Arkansas' Nicolas Rousset, beating him, 6-2, 6-1. Prata matched up against Jan-Simon Vrbsky of SMU, falling in three sets, 0-6, 7-5, 4-6.

Junior Adam Walton is UT's lone player remaining in the ITA All-American Championships and is set to begin play on Wednesday in the singles main draw.
