Vols Wrap Up Samford Round Robin as Stodder Finishes Perfect Weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tennessee men's tennis finished up its weekend down in Alabama as the Vols went 2-1 against Middle Tennessee on Sunday.
Freshman Finn Stodder won his third singles match of the weekend, defeating the Blue Raiders' Max Rauch in three sets. The Berlin Germany native split sets one and two, winning the first, 6-4, before falling, 0-6, in the second. Stodder bounced back in the deciding third set, 6-2, to win the match.
Stodder cruised through the weekend, winning his first two matches in two sets before Sunday's three-setter.
Fellow freshman Jordan Chrysostom joined Stodder in the win column, knocking off MTSU's Francisco Rocha. The Bowie, Md., native won his second match of the weekend in two sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Redshirt freshman Mason Meier fell in his singles bout, 2-6, 1-6, to Brad Buckland from Middle Tennessee.
In doubles, the UT pairing of Chrysostom/Stodder fell, 7-5, to Alabama's Sam Fischer/Alexey Nesterov.
The Samford Round Robin was a mock dual tournament, putting players from one team against another team each day. The Vols defeated Samford and Middle Tennessee in singles, going 2-1 against the Bulldogs and Blue Raiders on Friday and Sunday. UT faced Alabama in singles on Saturday with Stodder coming away with Tennessee's lone victory.

Tennessee will be back on the road next weekend as the Vols travel to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational.
