Harper took the opening set in his first match against NC State's Yannai Barkai, 6-0, and won the match after Barkai retired from play. His second match of the day came against Old Dominion's Jannik Giesse, going three sets. The Brisbane, Australia native won the match, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, punching his ticket into the qualifying draw.
