KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Following a three-week break from competition to focus on training, the Tennessee cross country programs are back in action this weekend at the 46th edition of the Paul Short Run. One of the nation's premier cross country events, the meet will be hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday.

Tennessee's men and women will be two of 282 collegiate teams represented at the meet. The Paul Short Run will feature 14 races (six college, six high school and two open races) throughout the day.

WHO'S RUNNING: The Vols and Lady Vols will each compete in the gold college races. The men's 8K is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 11:45.

MEN'S 8K
WOMEN'S 6K
LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Vols took home their second-straight team title three weeks ago at the University of Virginia's Cavalier Classic, scoring 36 points with four runners finishing inside the top-10. Sophomore Katie Thronson paced the Big Orange with her first collegiate individual win, clocking a meet record time of 17:01.7 over the five-kilometer course.

On the men's side, Brayden Hamblen led the Vols with a 25:29.5 clocking over the 8K course as Tennessee finished fourth in the team standings.

UP NEXT: Tennessee will split up for the first time this season, with the women's team competing at the Penn State National Open (Oct. 18) and the men running at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational (Oct. 19).
