Â
SENIOR NIGHT: Prior to the match, Tennessee soccer will honor its six seniors as they play their final regular season contest at Regal Soccer Stadium. MA Vignola, Michelle Alozie, Claire Franks, Katie Cousins, Salera Jordan and Maya Neal will be recognized on the game field beginning promptly at 6:35 p.m.
Â
LAST TIME OUT: Coming off their first ranked win of the season against No. 20 Florida, the Vols (9-5-3, 3-4-2 SEC) earned a point in league play this past weekend with a 1-1 draw at Mississippi State Sunday afternoon. Senior MA Vignola scored the equalizer on a penalty kick midway through the second half.
Â
ROAD TO ORANGE BEACH: As it stands currently, the Vols are the 10-seed in the conference ahead of next week's SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Alabama. A Tennessee win over Arkansas would guarantee a postseason berth for the Vols.
Â
COUSINS HONORED FOR SERVICE: Senior midfielder Katie Cousins was named to the 2019 SEC Community Service Team earlier this week. She has logged more than 130 hours of service over the past five years on Rocky Top.
Â
BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD: Tennessee was one of three schools in the country (UNC, Clemson) to have four players named to the Top Drawer Soccer Women's Freshman Top 100.
TOP-10 MATCHUP: When No. 6 Arkansas comes to Knoxville, it will mark UT's 58th match against a top-10 opponent and 19th at home. The Vols are 10-41-6 all-time against top-10 teams with a 5-12-1 record at Regal Stadium.
Â
SERIES HISTORY: Tennessee holds a 13-4-1 all-time series lead against the Razorbacks, winning the most recent matchups by scores of 1-0 (2015) and 3-2 (2017) on the road. Last time the two teams faced each other at Regal, the Vols dropped a narrow 1-0 overtime loss to the Hogs on Oct. 10, 2014.
Â
SCOUTING ARKANSAS: The Razorbacks (13-2-2, 7-1-1 SEC) enter Thursday's matchup as the SEC West champions and the league's top scoring club, ranking top-5 nationally in total goals (51), assists (57) and points (159) this season under eighth-year head coach Colby Hale. The Arkansas defense has put together 11 shutouts in 2019 with just six goals conceded on the year.
Â
Freshman forward Anna Podojil ranks second in the SEC with 12 goals this year, while junior midfielder Parker Goins is top-8 in the league in total points, assists and goals. Razorback keeper Katie Lund leads the SEC with nine solo shutouts to go along with a 0.357 GAA and .885 save percentage.
Â
