Vols Continue to Roll on Day Two of ITA Ohio Valley Regional

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee men's tennis team had a perfect day Friday at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships as the Vols went 5-0 at the Currey Tennis Center and Centennial Sportsplex.
Junior Andrew Rogers got the day started for the Vols as he took on Brett Winters from Xavier. The Brentwood, Tenn., native defeated Winters in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-2.
Luca Wiedenmann was next up for Tennessee as he squared off with Butler's Thomas Brennan, winning the match in two sets, 6-1, 7-5.
Aussie Scott Jones faced Victor Chaw of Lipscomb in his second round matchup, defeating Chaw, 7-5, 6-2.
Finn Stodder closed out the singles portion of the day, facing Indiana's William Piekarsky. The freshman from Berlin, Germany beat Piekarsky in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, keeping the Big Orange perfect through two days of singles matches.
In doubles, Jones and Wiedenmann met Juan Lugo and Frazier Rengifo from ETSU in the round of 16. The senior duo took down the Buccaneers' pairing, 8-7 (4), advancing to the quarterfinal round.
The ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships continue tomorrow with quarterfinal doubles action and two rounds of main draw singles play.
