Tennessee scheduled for primetime clash against No. 16 Wildcats Wednesday night in Thompson-Boling
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee volleyball team is scheduled to faceoff against No. 16 Kentucky Wednesday night in Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Lady Vols (9-7, 3-3 SEC) picked up their second consecutive Sunday sweep, defeating Mississippi State in Knoxville. It helped elevate Tennessee into a tie for sixth in the conference standings, just a half a game back of Alabama.
The Wildcats (11-5, 4-1 SEC) suffered their first defeat in SEC play in the last two seasons on Friday night, falling at home to Georgia in five sets. Kentucky is the two-time reigning SEC Champions and led by 2018 SEC Player of the Year in senior outside hitter Leah Edmond.
The first serve of Wednesday's tilt against Kentucky is set for 7 p.m. (ET) in Thompson-Boling Arena. The match can also be seen on ESPNU.
FELTS ON FIRE
In the last five matches of the season, Lily Felts has recorded double-digit kills four times with a 3.00 kills per set average.
She tallied a season-high 17 kills against LSU on Friday night en route to her first double double of the season. For the first time this season, she led the team in kills on Sunday with 11 in the three-set win over Mississippi State.

QUEEN OF KILLS
Tessa Grubbs has averaged 4.05 kills per set though 16 matches this season which ranks fourth in the SEC.
The Tega Cay, S.C. native has now had double-digit kills in 35 of the last 36 matches including all 16 matches this season. During that stretch, she has 11 matches with 20-plus kills.
Her career 3.70 kills per set ranks third in program history just trailing Tamala Bightman (4.32 K/S) and Ariana Wilson (4.08 K/S). Grubbs is also 21st on the career active leaders list among all of Division I.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
Senior setter Sedona Hansen recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 22 assists and 10 digs Sunday afternoon against Mississippi State on October 13th. She is second all-time in program history for career double-doubles with 54 just eight matches off the all-time program record.
She currently ranks fifth all-time in career assists with 3,067 while ranking 15th in digs with 1,028.
During the Auburn match on Oct. 6, Hansen became just the fourth player in Tennessee history to have 3,000-plus assists and 1,000-plus digs in her career.
SENIOR CLASS AWARD
For the second consecutive season, Tennessee had a player named as a top 30 candidate for the Senior Class Award. Tessa Grubbs joined 2018 nominee Erica Treiber. Additionally, Grubbs was one of five players from the SEC to be named to the list.
Tennessee is the only SEC school to have players named to the list in the last two seasons and one of just five programs nationally to have that honor.

- Tennessee grabbed its 48th win in the series, sweeping Mississippi State for the third consecutive match. Three players finished with a .300 hitting percentage or higher. The Lady Vols are now 6-0 this season when they accomplish that feat.
- Alyssa Andreno posted a team-high .588 hitting percentage while becoming just the second Lady Vol this season to record 10-plus kills without a hitting error.

- Danielle Mahaffey recorded a new season-high hitting percentage on the right pin. She tallied seven kills while hitting .538 percent on 13 swings. Mahaffey also tallied three blocks in the match.
