Vols Open Georgia Tech Invitational with Six Victories

ATLANTA – Four members of the Tennessee men's tennis team opened play at the Georgia Tech Invitational Saturday, coming away with six victories.
The Vols went 3-1 in both singles and doubles play, notching wins over opponents from Georgia, Miami, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Clemson.
Pat Harper teamed with Jordan Chrysostom in doubles to defeat Georgia's Alex Phillips and Samuel Dromsky, 6-3, before knocking off Macsen Sisam/George Harwell from Vanderbilt, 6-4, advancing to the semifinals of the Olde Gold bracket. Harper continued his roll in singles with a win over Tim Dollman of Auburn, 6-2, 6-3, moving on to play in the quarterfinals of the White draw.
In singles, Chrysostom beat Jacob Jahn from Clemson in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-4. He will face Brandon Freestone from Georgia Tech Sunday in the quarterfinals of the Navy draw.
Giles Hussey and Mark Wallner formed Tennessee's second doubles paring. The duo split their doubles matches, winning 6-1, over Miami's Pablo Aycart Joya and Tatsuki Shimamoto, but falling to Georgia Tech's pairing of Chris Yun/Freestone, 7-5.
In singles, Hussey took down Miami's Franco Aubone in two-sets, 7-6, 6-1. He will play in the quarterfinals of the White draw on Sunday.
Wallner suffered a three-set defeat in his singles match, 3-6, 6-2, 6-7(5), to Vanderbilt's Christian Worst and will play in the Olde Gold Consolation draw Sunday.
