Tennessee starts a three-match homestand on Friday against the Tigers
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee volleyball team is set to begin a three-match home stand Friday against LSU at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The last time out the Lady Vols (8-6, 2-2 SEC) grabbed their first road victory of the season in sweep fashion over Auburn. The Vols enter the third weekend of SEC play as the leaders in digs per set at 16.59 per game.

The Tigers (8-6, 2-2 SEC) started SEC play with a pair of wins, but fell twice last week to Missouri and Ole Miss in four sets. They are led on the right pin by junior Taylor Bannister who has a team-high 3.76 kills per set while being second on the team in aces and blocks.
The first serve of Friday's match against LSU is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (ET) in Thompson-Boling Arena. The match can also be seen on SEC Network+.

CAREER MILESTONES
Senior setter Sedona Hansen achieved three career milestones over the weekend. The Wrightwood, California native entered the top five in career assists Friday night against Georgia in the first set when she set up fellow senior Tessa Grubbs to make it 12-18.

Early in the second frame, Hansen became the 16th member of the 1,000-dig club in Tennessee history. She recorded it with her fourth dig in the match. She went on to finish with a team-high 25 assists and 11 digs.

Sunday, she surpassed the 3,000-assist mark, becoming just the fifth player to do so at Tennessee. She is just the fourth player to record both 3,000 assist and 1,000 digs in her Lady Vol career.

Through the first two weekends of conference play, junior libero Madison Coulter leads the SEC with a 5.12 digs per set average. She also leads the league with 87 total digs in four matches played.

Tessa Grubbs has averaged 4.13 kills per set though 14 matches this season which ranks second in the SEC.

The Tega Cay, S.C. native has now had double-digit kills in 33 of the last 34 matches including all 14 matches this season. During that stretch, she has 11 matches with 20-plus kills.

Her career 3.71 kills per set ranks third in program history just trailing Tamala Bightman (4.32 K/S) and Ariana Wilson (4.08 K/S). Grubbs is also 19th on the career active leaders list among all of Division I.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
Senior setter Sedona Hansen recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 25 assists and 11 digs Friday night at Georgia on October 4th. She is second all-time in program history for career double-doubles with 54 just eight matches off the all-time program record.
She currently ranks fifth all-time in career assists with 3,013 while ranking 15th in digs with 1,014.

During the Auburn match, Hansen became just the fourth player in Tennessee history to have 3,000-plus assists and 1,000-plus digs in her career.
SENIOR CLASS AWARD
For the second consecutive season, Tennessee had a player named as a top 30 candidate for the Senior Class Award. Tessa Grubbs joined 2018 nominee Erica Treiber. Additionally, Grubbs was one of five players from the SEC to be named to the list.

Tennessee is the only SEC school to have players named to the list in the last two seasons and one of just five programs nationally to have that honor.
