Tennessee Softball Position Preview: Infielders

As we approach opening day of the 2019 Tennessee softball season, UTSports.com will preview a position group each week. This week, we're taking a look at the Lady Vols' infielders.
Tennessee returns four infielders from last season's team, including Aubrey Leach who led the NCAA in runs scored last season, and welcomes two newcomers. Â
Seggern started in all 62 games played last season and collected 66 RBIs along the way. She ranked fourth on the team in batting average (.330), having 191 at bats with 29 runs and 63 hits. She led the team in doubles with 17 and also had seven home runs. The Thrall, Texas, native was also tabbed to the NFCA All-Region Third Team after her performance in 2018. Academically, Seggern was named as an Easton/NFC Scholar-Athlete and was on the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.

#10Â Aubrey Leach (Sr. | INF | The Woodlands, Texas)
In 2018, Leach led the NCAA in runs per game (1.31) and sat atop the SEC with a .441 batting average and 80 runs scored. The Texas native's 80 runs scored through 61 games set Tennessee's single-season mark. Leach was selected to the NFCA Division I All-American First Team, NFCA All-Region First Team and the All-SEC First Team for her efforts last season. Off the field, she was named an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete and to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. To cap her successful junior campaign, she was also a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top-25 Finalist. The senior was recently named to the 2019 Preseason All-SEC Team.

#7 Ashley Morgan (So. | INF | Douglasville, Ga.)
Morgan was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team last season, appearing in 61 games while starting in 56 of them. She pitched in four of the games, collecting three strikeouts. Morgan compiled a .252 batting average with 147 at bats, 11 runs and 37 hits. She was aggressive at the plate as she had 31 RBIs and five home runs. The Georgia native was also named an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete along with placing on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

#16Â Savannah Huffstetler (R-Jr. | UTL | Suwanee, Ga.)
Huffstetler redshirted in 2018 after playing in 17 games as a sophomore in 2017. In her career, she has five hits, two of which are doubles, and 10 scored runs. The Georgia native also tallied four RBIs in 2017.
Osbron was named the No. 22 overall player in the Extra Inning Softball Elite 100. The Paris, Tenn., native was an All-State freshman, sophomore and junior. Osbron led Henry County HS to a third-place finish in the state tournament, which was also her school's first appearance in the tournament. She was tabbed the West TN Sports Digest Preseason Player of the Year. In her senior year, she had 38 RBIs, 43 runs scored, a .560 batting average, a .639 on-base percentage, a .931 slugging percentage and six home runs.
#3 Kaitlin Parsons (Fr. | INF/OF | Long Beach, Calif.)
Parsons comes from Long Beach, Calif., and attended Los Alamitos High School. She played club softball on the Firecrackers and is the Recipient of the Hartman Endowment for the Thornton Athletic Center.
