KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee women's tennis team travels to Ann Arbor, Mich. this weekend for the Michigan Invitational against No. 14 Georgia Tech, Ohio State along with host school and 10th-ranked Michigan.

There is no team scoring (win or loss) at the event.

The Lady Vols are coming off of a pair of 7-0 season-opening victories against North Alabama in which freshmen Rebeka Mertena and Maia Haumuller each made their debuts for Tennessee.
Â
Johanna Silva and Sadie Hammond both extended notable singles winning streaks during the pair of victories.
Â
With two singles victories, Silva extended her winning streak to 10 matches, dating back to Oct. 13. Hammond won her sixth singles match in a row, a winning streak that also dates back to Oct. 13.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each team will play three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles.
Â
There will be up to eight flights in singles and four flights in doubles per round. Each team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles per day.

The third set will be played to completion in singles. Points will be allotted for each win based on the following decreasing point value to determine the champion (singles and doubles) at the end of the weekend:

Win at No. 2 position – 7 points
Win at No. 3 position – 6 points
Win at No. 4 position – 5 points
Win at No. 5 position – 4 points
