WTEN CENTRAL: ITA All-American Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Four Lady Vols will travel to Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. this week for the 2018 ITA Women's All-American Championships.

Senior Sadie Hammond, redshirt junior Gabby Schuck and sophomore Kaitlin Staines will compete in pre-qualifying singles on Saturday.

Staines and Ariadna Riley, the No. 18 doubles pair, will participate in main draw doubles, which begins next Thursday, Oct. 4. Hammond and Schuck will pair up for pre-qualifying doubles.

Pre-qualifying matches will be contested at Pepperdine University, while Riviera Tennis Club will host qualifying and main draw matches. Pre-qualifying will take place on Saturday and Sunday, qualifying singles and doubles are set for Oct. 2-3, and the main draw will run from Oct. 4-7.

Riley and Staines will be Tennessee's first pair to compete in main draw doubles since 2012, when Brynn Boren and Kata Szekely advanced to the semifinals. Riley and Staines posted a 15-4 record when partnered together last season, finishing the season ranked No. 36 in the ITA Doubles rankings.

Hammond, Schuck and Staines will be Tennessee's first participants in pre-qualifying singles since Szekely in 2011.
