KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee volleyball team moved to 2-0 on the season with a three set win over in-state Belmont University.

Led by a season-high 15 kills from junior outside hitter Tessa Grubbs with nine coming in the second set. Grubbs attack on the left pin opened up the middle in the third frame.

Senior Erica Treiber and sophomore Addisyn Rowe combined for seven kills in the third as the Lady Vols hit .483.

Freshman defensive specialist Giana Pellizzon saw her first collegiate action ending the match with five digs and an assist. Senior Stephanie Spencer also saw her first action of the season.

Standout Stat:

The Lady Vols have started the season 2-0 for the sixth straight season. Tennessee will look to start 3-0 for the fourth consecutive year later tonight.

Match Notables:

Sedona Hansen made it back-to-back games with double doubles. The junior totaled 19 assists and added 11 digs.
Callie Williams tallied three aces in the match which is a season best for the Lady Vols.
With 11 digs in the match, Brooke Schumacher now has 1,088 career digs. She is now 29 digs away from entering the top 10 in program history.
