EUGENE, Ore. — The Tennessee Volunteers are set to compete at the NCAA Track and Field Championships starting Wednesday at Oregon's Hayward Field.Â
The four-day meet runs through Saturday with the men competing Wednesday and Friday and the women taking the track Thursday and Saturday.Â
Tennessee has 12 individuals in 14 events in addition to three relays who have qualified for the final site championships. The Vols have four men and one relay, while the Lady Vols have sent eight individuals and two relay teams.Â
Here's a look at the Vols competing in individual events:Â
SPRINTS
Shania Collins (100m, 200m) - The senior from Huntingtown, Maryland, is into her second NCAA championship, having placed 16th in the 200m. This has been a breakout season for Collins, who will run the 100m and 200m this week. She took silver in the 100m and 200m at the SEC Championships and also recorded the school record in the 100m. With a +5.3 tailwind and driving rain, she recorded an all-time, all-conditions collegiate record in the 200m (21.97).Â
Alexis Duncan (100m Hurdles) - The redshirt freshman from DeSoto, Texas, will represent the Lady Vols in the 100m hurdles. She set the school record in the event (12.79) en route to taking second at the SEC Championships.Â
Lenysse Dyer (400m) - The junior from Miami, Florida, is running her first NCAA Track and Field Championships as an individual, qualifying in the 400m. She placed fourth in the event at the SEC championships and has a season-best time of 52.14.Â
Felecia Majors (400m) - The senior from Lorton, Virginia, redshirted last season but is back for her third NCAA outdoor final as an individual. This year, she placed third at the SEC championships and has a season-best time of 51.67. She took eighth in the 400m at the 2016 NCAA meet. Â
Maia McCoy (200m) - The Memphis, Tennessee, native is making her first trip to the NCAA final site. She earned the 12th and final spot at the NCAA East Preliminaries in a career-best wind-legal time of 23.11. She also recorded a wind-aided 22.43 in the same heat Shania Collins ran a sub-22.Â
Nathan Strother (400m) - The senior from Norcross, Georgia, has qualified for the NCAA championships in the 400m all four years of his career. He notably placed fifth in 2016 and ninth in 2017. At the SEC Championships, he became the first Vol to run under 45 seconds to finish second in 44.34 seconds. The time also ranks second nationally.Â
Mustaqeem Williams (100m, 200m) - The junior from Woodbridge, Virginia, will be pulling double duty with the 100m and 200m. At the SEC championships, he took second in the 200m in a career-best time of 20.25 and finished third in the 100m in a career-best 10.12. This is his second time qualifying for the NCAA final site; he took 12th in the 200m last year in 20.73.Â
DISTANCE
Zach Long (5,000m) - The junior from Rutledge, Tennessee, is making his second NCAA final site appearance, set to run again in the 5,000m. He set the school record in the event earlier this season (13:39.22). He earned his first SEC medal in April, taking third in the 1500m.Â
THROWS
Stamatia Scarvelis (Hammer) - The junior from Santa Barbara, California, has enjoyed a strong season in hammer this year, breaking her own school record (68.37m/224-4) early in the season before winning her first SEC title in April. She was the No. 2 qualifier out of the NCAA East Preliminaries.
Jordan West (Shot Put) - West is the only freshmen on the men's side to make the NCAA final site. He broke Chuck Locke's 1982 school record with a mark of 19.79m (64-11.25) en route to taking third at the SEC Championships. Â
JUMPS
Cidae'a Woods (Triple Jump) - The senior from Atco, New Jersey, is making her NCAA debut in her final season. She recorded the 10th-best triple jump result at the NCAA East Preliminary to advance to Eugene. Her mark of 13.19m (43-4.25) ranks second on Tennessee's all-time list.Â
HEPTATHLON
Maya Neal - A track and soccer standout, Maya Neal is making her NCAA Track and Field debut. Notably, she is the first Tennessee woman to compete in the heptathlon since Marvena Almond placed seventh in 1996. She recorded the second-best heptathlon score -- 5,650 points -- to place fourth at the SEC Championships.Â
IN THE RANKINGS: Tennessee enters the championships at No. 12 in the USTFCCCA national women's rankings and a season-best No. 22 for the men.Â
