Soccer Signing Class Ranked 20th Nationally
April 23, 2018 | Soccer
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee soccer team's incoming recruiting class has moved up to No. 20 nationally by Top Drawer Soccer.Â
The class, which signed in February, represents six states: Abbey Burdette (Monrovia, Maryland), Makenna Curcuru (Henderson, Nevada), Emma Dize (Ashburn, Virginia), Jamie Goralski (Naperville, Illinois), Brice McInroy (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania), Mackenzie Ostrom (Manvel, Texas) and Amy Thompson (Ashburn, Virginia).Â
Three newcomers are currently ranked in the IMG Top 150: No. 60 McInroy, a midfielder for Penn Fusion; No. 126 Burdette, a forward for Maryland United; and No. 147 Curcuru, a midfielder for Heat FC.Â
As the signing class prepares to join the Tennessee ranks, they will be training and competing against high-level competition in the coming months. Four Vols -- McInroy, Curcuru, Ostrom and Goralski -- are on club teams ranked in the top 15 nationally.Â
The Vols finished 15-4-2 last season, notably reaching the second round of the NCAA championships under sixth-year head coach Brian Pensky. Only two seniors graduated from last year's squad.Â
