KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee will go head-to-head with some of the top teams in the country this weekend at the Clemson Invitational, facing off against 20 programs from eight different athletic conferences, eight of which are nationally ranked while five others are receiving votes.
Due to predicted inclement weather on Sunday, racing has been moved up to Friday and will conclude Saturday evening.
In the Friday evening session, the Vols' will face No. 4 Ohio State, No. 9 Virginia, No. 15 Washington State, No. 17 Indiana, No. 18 Syracuse, No. 20 Oklahoma, Minnesota (RV), Duke (RV), UCLA (RV), UCF, Navy, Northeastern and Clemson across five races.
UT's 3V8+ will be the first in action, hitting the water at 6 p.m. The 1V8+ will wrap up the day for the Vols at 7:36 p.m.
Tennessee will race five boats in the Saturday morning session, taking on No. 4 Ohio State, No. 9 Virginia, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 13 USC, No. 15 Washington State, No. 17 Indiana, No. 18 Syracuse, No. 20 Oklahoma, Louisville (RV), Minnesota (RV), Duke (RV), UCF, Navy, Cornell and Clemson.
The 1V8+ will begin the morning session for the Vols at 8:30 a.m. while the 3V8+ will be the final race of the session at 10:14 a.m.
During the finals on Saturday afternoon, boats will be seeded based on their performances in the two previous races. Racing begins at 6 p.m. and is slated to end at 7:44 p.m.
