Lady Vols Earn Second SEC Win vs. Alabama, 4-2

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The 38th-ranked Tennessee women's tennis team extended its win streak versus Alabama to four, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in Barksdale Stadium.

The Lady Vols (15-7, 2-7 SEC) opened play by taking the doubles point in straight matches. Court 3 finished first, as Elizabeth Profit and Chelsea Sawyer took their match versus Kylie Moulin and Kim Gintrand, 6-3. Gabby Schuck and Sadie Hammond followed that up with a 6-4 win against Alba Cortina-Pou and Ann Selim on Court 2 to give UT an early 1-0 lead.

 In singles, Alabama claimed wins on Courts 1 and 2 to jump ahead, but Tennessee pulled back momentum, winning out on Courts 3, 4, and 6. Kaitlin Staines was the first Lady Vol to get a win, 6-4. 7-5, over Ann Selim on Court 4. On Court 3, Ariadna Riley staged a comeback in the second set, taking five consecutive games to defeat Jacqueline Pelletier, 6-0, 7-5. Johanna Silva clinched the match in favor of Tennessee, besting Kylie Moulin on Court 6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
