Smith, Wagner Tied for Third After RD 1 of Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Competing as individuals, the three Lady Vols entered in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate finished the first round of the tournament with three of the top six scores on Sunday.
"They all played very steady and stayed away from the big numbers," Volunteer Assistant Coach Luis Pavon said. "They made more than three birdies each, but they believe they can play better tomorrow because they each left some shots out there today."
Freshman Mariah Smith and redshirt junior Haley Wagner each carded an even-par 71 on the 5,803-yard Highlands Course at Sevierville Golf Club. The duo enters the second round tied for third place while junior Allison Herring will begin Monday's round tied for sixth place. The New Jersey native shot 74 (+3) on Sunday.
The second round of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday, March 19, in a shotgun start.
