CLEARWATER, Fla. – Abby Lockman came through yet again as she picked up her fifth RBI of the day in Tennessee's 4-1 win over UMass Lowell in game two of the Michelle Smith Pediatric Cancer Invitational at Eddie C. Moore Field in Clearwater, Florida.
The Tennessee softball team found itself trailing in a game for just the third time in this early season against UMass Lowell. The River Hawks scored first in the top of the second inning when Emily Stephenson singled to right field and scored Sara Siteman.
Lockman came to the plate with bases loaded in the bottom of the third and hit a base clearing double off the center file wall that score Scarlett McSwain, Sheridan Allen and Aubrey Leach to give the Lady Vols a 3-1 lead over the River Hawks.
Tennessee would score their fourth and final run of the game when Chelsea Seggern hit a single down the right field line to bring home Leach.
Caylan Arnold came in and picked up eight strikeouts and didn't allow a hit in 5.2 innings pitched to earn her second win of the season.
