Second time in three weeks Tessa Grubbs has received an SEC weekly honor
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- University of Tennessee junior Tessa Grubbs was named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
This is the second time in three weeks Grubbs has received the honor, winning both player of the week and offensive player of the week on Oct. 29. Overall, this is the fourth honor the Lady Vols have received this season with Lily Felts winning SEC Freshman of the Week on Oct. 8 and Addisyn Rowe garnering SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 29.
This week Grubbs led Tennessee to their seventh straight victory, the longest streak of the season for the Lady Vols. The Tega Cay, S.C. native recorded 22 kills in the three-set sweep over Mississippi State, the most kills by any SEC player in three sets this season. Her 7.33 kills/set is the second highest mark by any SEC player this season and the most in her career.
