Lady Vols conclude five game homestand Sunday afternoon against the Bulldogs

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee volleyball team will play its last of a five match home stand against Mississippi State (5-12, 1-3 SEC) Sunday in Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Lady Vols (13-4, 4-1 SEC) will look for their 10th victory in Knoxville after defeating Alabama in four sets on Wednesday. Tennessee limited the Crimson Tide offense to just a .105 hitting percentage in the match while getting double-digit kills from Erica Treiber, Lily Felts and Raquel Perinar. Felts achieved her second double-double this season, totaling 12 digs in the win.

The Bulldogs are coming off a three-set loss to No. 18 Kentucky Friday night in Starkville, Miss. They come into Knoxville with a record of 1-3 in SEC play with their win coming in five sets over Auburn last week.

Through five Southeastern Conference games in 2018, Tennessee ranks at the top of the conference in three different statistical categories. The Lady Vols are at the top of the conference in kills/set (14.77) assists/set (13.45) and digs/set (16.77).

University of Tennessee volleyball team captured its third-straight win with a 3-1 victory over the University of Alabama Wednesday. With the win, the Lady Vols notched their ninth victory inside of Thompson-Boling Arena this season.
- Senior Erica Treiber and freshman Lily Felts led Tennessee with 16 kills apiece, as freshman Raquel Perinar (14) was the other Lady Vol with double-digit kills.

Erica Treiber and Kendra Turner both finished with a .500 hitting percentage to giving Tennessee a 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-14, 25-11) win in its 2017 SEC home opener against Mississippi State at Thompson-Boiling Arena.

Treiber and Turner led the attack for Tennessee (8-3, 1-1 SEC) with 64 total attacks and 34 combined kills. Outside hitter Tessa Grubbs accounted for 40 attacks and 20 kills for a .475 hitting percentage.

With 44 wins over the Bulldogs, it marks the most wins over a Southeastern Conference team. The Lady Vols captured the first 15 matches in this match-up and have won 27 of the last 32 matches against Mississippi State.

FIRST TO 100
With 24 digs in the victory over Alabama, Madison Coulter became the first player this season to accumulate 100+ digs in conference play. Through five matches, Coulter has 4.59 digs/set which ranks third in the SEC.

In the win over Alabama on Wednesday, Sedona Hansen recorded a season-high 41 assists in the win. This is the first time since Nov. 20, 2016 she has recorded 40+ assists and the 16th time in her career.

NEXT UP
Tennessee begins a three-game road stretch against No. 18 Kentucky on Wednesday. Earlier this season, the Lady Vols held the Wildcats to their lowest hitting percentage of the season at .185 as Tennessee fell to Kentucky in four sets.
