October 21, 2018 | Soccer
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- No. 18 Tennessee laid down a barrage of four-consecutive goals over six minutes late in the second half to defeat No. 5 Texas A&M 4-0 Sunday evening. Vol seniors Danielle Marcano, Anna Bialczak and Bunny Shaw accounted for all four scores as UT picked up its first road win over a top-5 opponent in program history.
Marcano broke up a scoreless match in the 75th minute, netting the ball from point blank range off a double assist from MA Vignola and Shaw. Bialczak gave the Vols a 2-0 cushion 84 seconds later, tallying from the middle of the box off of Shaw's service.
Shaw tallied her team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 80th minute, dodging a pair of Aggie defenders before shooting the ball just inside the right post. Marcano made it a brace in the 81st, willing herself past the back line and firing into an open net.
Goalkeeper Shae Yanez continued her stellar senior campaign, logging her ninth solo shutout of the year with a season-high six saves. With 20 career shutouts, the Downingtown, Pa. native ranks third overall in program history.

Sunday's match was Tennessee's first road victory over a top-5 opponent, in addition to being UT's second win against a top-5 team. The Lady Vols defeated No. 5 Florida at home on Oct. 10, 2003.
Texas A&M (14-3-1, 5-3-1 SEC) suffered its first home loss of the season Sunday, entering the contest with an 11-0-0 record at Ellis Field in 2018. The 4-0 deficit was the highest margin of defeat at home in Aggie soccer history.
Â
The Aggies narrowly outshot the Vols 19-18 for the match. Tennessee (12-2-2, 6-2-1 SEC) had the advantage in corner kicks (8-4), saves (6-3) and fouls (7-4) Sunday night in College Station.
Â
UP NEXT: Tennessee returns home Thursday for its regular season finale, hosting the Missouri Tigers at Regal Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., with Senior Night recognition taking place prior to the match.
