Vols Wrap Up Day 2 of Split Tennis Weekend

The Tennessee men's tennis team wrapped up the second day of competition Saturday at the Gator Ranked+1 at Florida and the Ivy Plus Invitational at Princeton.
At Florida, sophomore Scott Jones came up short on his bid for a third consecutive ranked victory, losing in the semifinals to No. 13 Constantin Schmitz of Tulane 6-2, 7-6(5).
Junior Timo Stodder rebounded in consolation for a 7-5, 6-1 win over Nico Rouanet of Louisville, 7-5, 6-1.
Jones and Stodder reached the doubles final of the blue draw via a walkover but lost to Florida's Duarte Vale and Alfredo Perez 8-1.
The Vols went a combined 3-5 in singles play at the Ivy Plus. After three-set losses in their respective quarterfinals, junior Preston Touliatos, sophomore Luca Wiedenmann and freshman Adam Walton answered with consolation victories in the afternoon.
Walton and Touliatos will contend for the Black draw doubles title Sunday, taking on Jason Kros and Ryan Kros of Virginia Tech.
