KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee opens the SEC volleyball season on Wednesday when they travel to Fayetteville to face the University of Arkansas at Barnhill Arena.

The Lady Vols (7-2, 0-0 SEC) match against Arkansas (10-2, 0-0 SEC) starts at 9 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on ESPNU.

SEC PLAY BEGINS

This week is the start of SEC play. The Vols will play 18 matches, 9 at home and 9 on the road.
Rob Patrick is 194-152 in SEC play at Tennessee. He led the team to conference titles in 2004 and 2011.
Last season the Vols went 7-11 in SEC play, finishing in a tie for seventh place.

LAST WEEK

The Lady Vols went 3-0 at the Rocky Top Invitational. Tennessee beat Marshall, USC Upstate and Furman to close out the non-conference season.
Erica Treiber and Alyssa Andreno were named to a second all-tournament team when they both were named to the Rocky Top Invite team. Treiber was named MVP while they both were named to the Tennessee Classic all-tournament team and Andreno was named MVP.
Sedona Hanson & Callie Williams now have had 10 or more assists in all nice of the Lady Vols matched and averaged 5.17 & 5.08 assist last week.

Last Match: The teams played twice last year and each team won their home match. Tennessee won 3-1 in Knoxville and Arkansas won 3-0 in Fayetteville.

TOPS IN THE SEC

The Vols are ranked in the top five in the conference in two important categories with season averages: second in blocks (2.94) and second in opponent hitting percentage (.142).
Treiber, who has started every match as a middle hitter this season, ranks fifth in the SEC and 34th in the NCAA with 1.41 blocks/set.
Andreno ranks sixth in the SEC and 64th in the NCAA averaging 1.25 blocks/set. She has recorded 41 total blocks so far, this season.
