Stodder, Jones Ranked in Preseason National Poll

TEMPE, Arizona — Tennessee junior Timo Stodder and sophomore Scott Jones are ranked in the Oracle/ITA preseason national singles rankings, the college tennis governing body announced Tuesday.
Coming off an All-SEC sophomore season at the top of the lineup, Stodder is ranked inside the top 25 for the first time at No. 17. The native of Berlin, Germany, put together a team-leading 25-15 record and qualified for the NCAA Singles Championships for the first time last season.
Jones is nationally ranked for the first time in his career at No. 121. The sophomore from Perth, Australia, was 22-15 in his first year at Tennessee while playing on courts 3 and 4. He notably captured the Australian U18Â boys national title last December and closed out his freshman season winning four of his last six matches.
With his ranking, Stodder is set to make his first main draw appearance at the ITA All-American Championships later this month. Jones will play in the qualifying draw.
The Vols start the fall season next week with the Ivy Plus Invitational at Princeton and the Gator Ranked Plus One at Florida.
