BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tennessee junior Rylie O'Keefe and redshirt sophomores Katie Cousins and Maya Neal were named to the SEC preseason soccer watch list, the conference office announced Wednesday.Â
O'Keefe, a midfielder from Littleton, Colorado, accumulated the most points last season among Tennessee's returners, totaling 19 points on five goals and nine assists while starting all 21 matches. She earned All-SEC and NSCAA all-region honors.Â
Cousins, a midfielder from Forest, Virginia, is back on the field for the Vols after missing the 2016 season playing for the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. As a freshman in 2015, she was on the SEC All-Freshman Team and played in all 18 games.Â
A defender and multi-event track standout from Naperville, Illinois, Neal is another returning member of the All-SEC and NSCAA all-region honors list. She started 19 games as a freshman and also contributed three goals when playing forward.Â
Tennessee opens the season on the road this weekend with a 7 p.m. Friday match at Navy followed by a 2 p.m. Sunday contest at George Mason. The Vols were picked to finish seventh in the SEC coaches preseason poll, which was released Tuesday.Â
