KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Future Tennessee soccer player Wrenne French has been named to the United States Women's National Team U-19 roster for a training camp later this month.
French will participate in the U.S. WNT U-19 camp that will run from May 13-20 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif. The team will also play a friendly match against Japan's U-20 national team on May 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
The U-19 team roster will consist of 24 players, nine of which are on college rosters, with the remaining 15 still playing youth club soccer.
French hails from Franklin, Tenn., and signed with the Vols on National Signing Day back in February. She helped lead Battle Ground Academy to a Tennessee AA State Championship in 2014 and has earned all-state, all-region and all-district honors multiple times during her prep career. French was named to the NSCAA All-South Region team as well. She plays her club ball for Tennessee Soccer Club, where she helped lead them to five Tennessee State Championships. French attended the 2014 ODP National camp and was named to the Region III ODP team twice. The dynamic forward also has some previous national team experience after attending the U-17 U.S. WNT camp back in 2016.
