The First Tee Honors UT Golf Teams

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The First Tee of Greater Knoxville recently hosted its annual end-of-the-year banquet at The Standard, and Tennessee's men and women's golf programs were recognized for sharing their time and talents with the organization.

The event welcomed all of the participants in The First Tee program, offering an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year. The awards presented included recognitions of the various teams, Life Skills awards as well as the Supporter of the Year, Golfer of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

This year, the Volunteer of the Year Award went to the University of the Tennessee men's and women's golf teams for their dedicated support. Annually, they join forces to host two clinics for the participants of The First Tee at no cost. Their support in 2017 goes unmatched within The First Tee, according to Shawn Mauer, the organization's program director.

The Tennessee men are led by Head Coach Jim Kelson and Director of Instruction/Player Development Sean Pacetti. The UT women are led by Head Coach Judi Pavon and Assistant Coach Mandy Moore.
