SEC Soccer Quarterfinals: Vols vs. Vandy

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Tennessee begins soccer postseason Tuesday, facing Vanderbilt in the SEC Soccer Tournament quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT) at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

The Vols (14-3-1) enter the tournament as the fifth seed in a rematch against fourth-seeded Vanderbilt (11-6-1), which won the regular-season meeting 2-1 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tennessee posted a 6-3-1 record in SEC play, the most conference wins in a year since going 9-3-1 in a longer schedule in 2012. The Vols are coming off a 3-2 comeback victory over Arkansas with junior Khadija Shaw providing her team-leading 14th goal to go ahead in the 81st minute. Vanderbilt defeated Auburn 2-1 in the season finale.

SEC TOURNEY AWAITS

Tennessee is the No. 5 seed in the SEC Tournament, getting directly to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2012.
UT has won four SEC tournament titles (2002, 03, 05, 08).
This is Tennessee's 19th appearance in the SEC Tournament. The Vols reached the quarterfinals last year (def. Ole Miss 2-0 in round 1; lost to Auburn, 3-1).

Shaw broke the Tennessee record with her seventh game-winning goal of the season when she delivered the 3-2 win at Arkansas in the final SEC game.

Tennessee has scored 43 goals, the most since scoring 44 in 2003.
The Lady Vols have scored 50+ goals in a season twice (67 in 1998; 57 in 2002).

WIN TOTALS

Fourteen wins is the most for the Vols in a season since earning 14 in 2012.
The program record for victories in a season is 18 (2002).
Credited with all 14 wins, goalkeeper Shae Yanez now has 21 career wins (5th in UT history).
