2016 Soccer Meet & Greet Set for Aug. 13

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee soccer will host its fifth annual Meet & Greet for fans on Saturday, Aug. 13 prior to its exhibition game against No. 14 Clemson at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Tennessee vs. Clemson
Gates open at 4:15 p.m., with the event officially slated to begin at 4:45 p.m. Fans will have a chance to tour the team’s facility as well as watch videos in the team’s state-of-the-art film room. Head coach Brian Pensky will address the fans and introduce the team before the players and coaches will be available for autographs until 5:45 p.m.
Following the Meet & Greet, fans will have the opportunity to see the 2016 Vols in action for the first time as they take on the Tigers at 7 p.m., in an exhibition contest. Clemson finished last season with a 15-4-2 record and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Starting at 5:45 p.m., and running all the way up to game time, the VolShop will be open on-site and children can enjoy themselves in the Kids Zone. Concessions will also be available before and during the game. Admission to the Meet & Greet and ALL home games is FREE for fans, so make sure to get out to Regal and enjoy Tennessee soccer all season long!
The Volunteers will play 12 regular-season home matches this season, highlighted by marquee matchups with Washington, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and South Carolina, among others. The Big Orange return 19 letterwinners from last year’s team, including seven starters, headlined by MAC Hermann Trophy preseason watch list honoree Hannah Wilkinson. UT also welcomes seven exciting newcomers to this season’s squad.
New Bag Policy
Please be advised that the university’s new bag policy for all of its athletic venues will be in effect for this event. In order to enhance safety and expedite fan entry at Tennessee athletic events, the university is implementing new safety policies for fans bringing bags into all athletic venues.
Only one clear plastic bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or a one-gallon, clear, resealable plastic storage bag per person will be permitted. Fans will also be allowed a small clutch purse not to exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Fans interested in purchasing an approved clear bag may visit the Official Team Store at Neyland Stadium, VolShop locations in the Student Union, 17th & Cumberland Avenue and University Commons; as well as other area retailers.
