KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Senior Bri Holmes and freshman Alyssa Andreno recorded 11 kills each to help lead the Tennessee Volunteers to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-16) victory over Louisiana Monroe on Saturday at the DISH Tennessee Classic.
The Vols (2-0) conclude the tournament tonight against Middle Tennessee (0-2) at 7 p.m., while LMU (0-2) plays Cincinnati (1-1) at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $1, and an all-tournament team will be named at the conclusion of the tournament.
Holmes hit .733 on her way to 11 kills. Andreno also hit for a high percentage (.667) with her 11 kills to go along with a team-high four blocks.
Sophomore Brooke Schumacher, playing libero, led the team with 12 digs, and junior setter Mackenzie Cooler had 21 assists while helping Tennessee hit .447 as a team.

NOTES
- Junior Kelsey Bawcombe matched her career high with five aces during the match, recording three consecutive aces in the first set. Through two matches, the Vols have recorded 17 aces.
- After five Vols played their first matches in orange and white on Friday, two more Vols made their career debuts Friday: freshman defensive specialist Asha Phillips and redshirt freshman Breana Jeter.
- Senior Nora Reed and junior Kendra Turner made their season debuts, both getting the starting nod for the Vols. Reed had an assist and a block. Turner had six kills, hitting .462 with two blocks.
- Only three starters were the same from Friday’s match against Cincinnati.
