KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- It’s game week and there’s only a few more players in our soccer countdown! Today we get to know more about sophomore Rylie O’Keefe.
Need to Know
O’Keefe was one of a handful of freshman to play big minutes for the Volunteers last season. She played in all but one game and made 14 starts for UT, averaging 73 minutes of action per game. O’Keefe scored her first-career goal on a free kick in a win at Alabama and added a pair of assists in an 8-0 rout of Belmont. She is expected to play a major role in the Vols’ midfield again this season and could also see some time as an outside defender on the back line.
The Littleton, Colo., native played her freshman year at Columbine High School where she scored 14 goals and had 17 assists to earn league MVP honors as well as first-team all-state accolades. O’Keefe finished her high school career at Dakota Ridge High School and also played club soccer for the Colorado Rush of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). She also helped lead the Rush to an ECNL national title and a Super League Division I title in 2012. O’Keefe chose Tennessee over Colorado, Auburn and Seattle. Check out Rylie’s entire bio HERE.
