KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- We’re nearing the end of our countdown as we get to know more about redshirt junior forward Ariel Kupritz today.
Need to Know
Kupritz started her collegiate career at the University of Miami (Fla.) in 2013 where she saw action is eight games for the Hurricanes. Following her freshman year at Miami, Kupritz decided to return home and play for Tennessee. The Maryville native had to sit out the entire 2014 season after sustaining an injury but was a consistent offensive threat in 18 games for the Vols last season. Kupritz made 10 starts and finished the season with two goals and two assists while tying for fourth on the team with six points despite only being able to play limited minutes due to dealing with Compartment syndrome in her legs. She scored her first-career collegiate goal in UT’s 1-0 victory over Arkansas in the team’s SEC opener and also scored a goal against No. 14 Auburn on Sept. 20.
Kupritz enjoyed a decorated prep career at Maryville High School, racking up 66 goals and 12 assists in just two seasons while earning all-state honors both years. She played club ball for Brentwood Soccer Club (Nashville) from 2008-11 and helped lead the club to three state championships and two regional finals appearances. She also played club ball for Gwinnett Soccer Association (Atlanta) from 2011-12. Kupritz chose to transfer to Tennessee over Clemson, NC State and Duke. Check out her entire bio HERE.
