KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- We begin our 2016 countdown with sophomore Shae Yanez, a promising young goalkeeper from Downingtown, Pa.
Need to Know
Yanez only saw action in one game last season as a true freshman, combining with Julie Eckel to post a shutout in the Vols' 8-0 win over Belmont on September 6. The sophomore net minder was a high school standout, earning all-state honors in 2014 after posting 10 consecutive shutouts and leading Downingtown West to a Ches-Mont National Division Championship. Yanez was also named the Ches-Mont National Division MVP in 2014. She was a two-sport athlete at Downingtown West, lettering in softball for two seasons as well.
