KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee women's basketball players Isabelle Harrison and Cierra Burdick were named to the All-America Honorable Mention Team by the Associated Press on Tuesday.
Harrison, a 6-3 senior from Nashville, picked up her second national accolade from AP. She was an honorable mention selection a year ago. Burdick, a 6-2 senior from Charlotte, N.C., received the first national recognition of her career.
In only 20 games during her final season as a Lady Vol, Harrison averaged 12.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest, falling to the floor early in the second half vs. Kentucky on Feb. 15 with a torn ACL in her right knee. She entered the court with five seconds remaining vs. Vanderbilt on senior day for an emotional farewell, and that brief appearance left her final season averages at 12.2 ppg. and 8.6 rpg. in 21 contests.
Harrison tallied 14 games in double figures, four 20-point outings and seven double-doubles in her abbreviated season. She finished her career with 31 double-doubles, which ranks sixth in school history. She also is one of 42 UT players to score 1,000 points in a career, tallying 1,071 in 112 games, and she finished ninth in career blocks with 131.
Burdick, who had the best season of her collegiate career, finished as Tennessee's third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder with 11.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game over 34 contests. She led the team with 91 assists and was third in steals with 38 while shooting 44 percent from the field, 37 percent on three pointers and 83 percent at the charity stripe.
Joining Harrison, Burdick was one of a school-record four Lady Vols (Ariel Massengale, Bashaara Graves) to reach the 1000-point plateau this season. She finished with 1,072 and also added 794 rebounds for her career in 132 games. The senior posted nine double-doubles this season and finished her career with 21 to rank 12th in UT history.
