NO. 10 TENNESSEE
- This mark's UT's third-straight year competing in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. Tennessee went 4-0 last year and 3-2 in 2013.
- Tennessee went 5-0 last weekend with wins over Fordham, Florida Gulf Coast, USF, Detroit and St. John's in the USF Invitational. UT outscored its opponents, 46-2, with run-rule victories against FGCU, Detroit and St. John's.
- Tennessee is ranked No. 10 in the latest USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and No. 13 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll.
- The Lady Vols are hitting .355 as a team with six players with at least 10 at-bats hitting .400 or higher. The UT pitching staff has combined for a 1.21 ERA.
- UT is averaging 9.8 runs scored per game and holding opponents to just 1.0 runs per game.
- Tory Lewis leads the team with a .500 batting average (9-for-18). Shaliyah Geathers is hitting .480 with a team-high three doubles. Taylor Koenig is hitting .455 with four homers and a team-best 16 RBIs. Annie Aldrete is batting .435 with two homers and nine RBIs. Rainey Gaffin is hitting with four homers, 11 RBIs and a team-high 15 runs scored. Scarlet McSwain is batting .400 with two homers, two doubles and nine RBIs.
- Gretchen Aucoin is 5-0 with a 0.59 ERA and 31 strikeouts over 23.2 innings of work. Rainey Gaffin is 1-0 with 1.11 ERA and Erin Gabriel is 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA.
NO. 23 NOTRE DAME
- Notre Dame is currently tied 23rd in in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll and ranks No. 24 in the latest USA Today/NFCA Poll.
- Notre Dame is 5-4 on the season and the Fighting Irish are coming off of a 1-3 weekend at the Tiger Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. Notre Dame defeated Central Arkansas an lost to LSU twice and Hofstra once.
- The Fighting Irish are hitting .299 as a team this season with Katey Haus (.444 BA, 3 HRs, 8 RBIs) and Jenna Simon (.387 BA, 4 RBIs, 3 SBs) leading the way.
- Rachel Nasland (1-1, 2.39 ERA, 25 Ks, 29.1 IP) and Allie Rhodes (2-2, 2.75 ERA, 21 Ks, 20.1 IP) for Notre Dame's 1-2 punch in the circle.
NO. 8 FLORIDA STATE
- Florida State ranks No. 8 in in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll and ranks No. 9 in the latest USA Today/NFCA Poll.
- Florida State is 7-3 on the year and the Seminoles are coming off of a 3-2 weekend in their own Unconquered Invitational with two wins over Nebraska and one win over Western Kentucky. FSU suffered two losses last week to Michigan.
- The Seminoles are hitting .250 as a team with Bailey Schinella (.310 BA, 1 HR, 8 RBIs) and Alex Powers (.280 BA, 3 HRs, 9 RBIs) leading the way.
- Lacey Waldrop (5-2, 1.16 ERA, 52 Ks, 36.1 IP) and Jessica Burroughs (2-1, 1.21 ERA, 36 Ks, 29.0 IP) combining for a formidable pitching tandem.
NO. 20 CALIFORNIA
- California ranks No. 20 in in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll and ranks No. 21 in the latest USA Today/NFCA Poll.
- California is 9-0 this season and the Golden Bears went 5-0 this past weekend with two wins over UC Davis and wins over Sacramento State, UC Riverside and Fresno State at the Fresno State Kick-Off.
- The Golden Bears are hitting .423 as a team with Jazmyn Jackson (.600 BA, 14 runs, 9 RBIs), Britt Vonk (.591 BA, 11 runs, 5 SBs), Danielle Henderson (.458 BA, 3 HRs, 11 RBIs) and Cheyenne Cordes (.433 BA, 3 HRs, 16 RBIs) leading the way.
- Stephanie Trzcinski is the team's ace with a 4-0 record, a 0.59 ERA and 10 strikeouts over 23.2 innings. Nisa Ontiveros is 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA and five strikeouts over 15.0 innings pitched.
UTAH
- Utah is 7-4 this season and the Utes are coming off a 5-1 showing in last weekend's UNLV Wilson/DeMarini Classic. Utah enjoyed wins over Long Beach State, Seattle, Cal State Northridge, Nevada and UNLV. The Utes fell to Cal State Fullerton, 4-3.
- Utah is hitting .276 as a team with Kate Dickman (.471 BA, 1 HR, 5 RBIs), Maddy Woodard (.360 BA) and Bridget Castro (.229 BA, 4 HRs, 14 RBIs) leading the way.
- Katie Donovan (2-1, 1.57 ERA, 20 Ks, 35.2 IP) is the team's ace. Miranda Viramontes has racked up the second-most innings, going 2-3 with a 3.79 ERA and 17 strikeouts over 24.0 innings.
NEBRASKA
- Nebraska is receiving votes in both the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll and the USA Today/NFCA Poll.
- Nebraska is 4-6 this season and coming off a 0-5 showing in last weekend's Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. The Huskers lost twice to both Florida State and Georgia Tech and also lost to Western Kentucky.
- The Huskers are hitting .347 with Kiki Stokes (.484 BA, 4 HRs, 13 RBIs) and Alicia Armstrong (.469 BA, 3 HRs, 10 RBIs) leading the way.
- Cassie McClure leads the team in the circle with a 3-1 record and a 4.36 ERA over 17.2 frames. Kaylan Jablonski (0-2, 7.18 ERA, 12.2 IP) and Emily Lockman (1-3, 8.14 ERA, 26.2 IP) round out the Huskers' three-pitcher rotation.
