Virginia Tech and Lipscomb opened the Knoxville Regional with a thriller coming down to the final inning. Lipscomb jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The Hokies answered in the third with a 3 RBI triple to right field to go ahead 3-1. The back-and-forth continued as the Bisons tied the game 3-3 going into the seventh. Virginia Tech's Lauren Gaskill scored on an RBI double by Vanessa Gonzalez.
The Hokies win by a score of 4-3, and advance to play the winner of Tennessee-Charleston Southern tomorrow at 2 p.m.
