- Tennessee co-head coach Ralph Weekly enters his 1,500th career game as a collegiate head coach when No. 2/13 Tennessee plays No. 11/12 Nebraska on Feb. 22.
- Ellen Renfroe has 799 strikeouts entering this week's games. Only one UT pitcher has thrown thrown 800 strikeouts -- Monica Abbott (NCAA record 2,440).
- No. 2/3 Tennessee is coming off a perfect 5-0 week at the USF Tournament, notching wins over Pittsburgh, Binghamton, USF, Illinios and Wright State.
- Tennessee enters this week as the SEC's top-hitting team, batting .378. UT ranks fourth in the league with a 0.98 team ERA.
- Freshman Megan Geer ranks third in the SEC with a .517 batting average. Freshman Annie Aldrete is tied for ninth with a .444 batting average. Sophomore Cheyanne Tarango stands 15th in the league with a .423 BA.
- Senior pitcher Ellen Renfroe was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday, Feb. 17. Renfroe is the first Lady Vol to receive weekly honors in 2014. She has been named SEC Pitcher of the Week six times in her illustrious UT career. Only Monica Abbott has received the award more times (16 times for 2004-07).
- Ellen Renfroe enters this week on a 26-inning shutout streak in the circle. It is the third-best start for at Tennessee pitcher. As a sophomore in 2012, Renfroe started the year with 27.1 consecutive scoreless innings from the circle. Monica Abbott owns the record for consecutive shutout innings to start a season, opening the 2005 campaign with 35.1 straight scoreless frames

Tennessee heads to Cathedral City for the seventh time in the last eight years. UT is 3-0 all-time against Nebraska. The No. 11/12 Huskers are UT's highest-ranked opponent to date and were a 2013 WCWS team.
SCOUTING THE HUSKERS
- UT is 3-0 all-time against Nebraska. The last time the teams played was on May 16, 2009. Tennessee defeated Nebraska, 5-2, in the Knoxville Regional. Ashton Ward drive in three and Erinn Webb had a pair of doubles. Danielle Pieroni tossed 5.2 frames in relief with one earned run allowed and five strikeouts to earn the win.
- No. 11/12 Nebraska (7-2) was a 2013 Women's College World Series team and went 45-16 last year. The Hustkers return 11 letterwinners, six starters and three pitchers from last season.
- Taylor Edwards (.500 BA, 3 HRs, 2 2Bs, 8 RBIs), Kiki Stokes (.429 BA, 1 HR, 3 RBIs), and Hailey Decker (.414 BA, 1 HR, 3 2Bs, 5 RBIs) are Nebraska's top three hitters. Emily Lockman (4-1, 1.14 ERA, 37.0 IP, 30 Ks) is the team's top pitcher.
