KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee is offering an exciting new slate of ticket packages for the 2014-15 basketball season to give fans new ways to see the Vols and Lady Vols in action at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Here are the new packages to look for this season, as single game tickets went on sale Tuesday.
Fans can get their first look at Donnie Tyndall's initial Volunteer team with the Starting 5 Premium Pack. For $65, fans get to see the games they want, choosing any five from the schedule. Fans that place their orders before Nov. 26 will receive a Vol For Life digital watch.
For games against Texas Southern, Butler, Texas A&M and Mississippi State, the $2 Eat Seat is available. For $15 for Texas Southern and Butler, $20 for Texas A&M and Mississippi State, fans get a ticket and a wristband that allows them to purchase concession items for just $2.
Fans looking to entertain guests over the holiday season can purchase the Holiday Pack. For $30 in the 300 level or $60 in the 100 level, fans can pick three of the five holiday games (Butler, Tennessee Tech, Mercer, Tennessee State and East Tennessee State) and receive a "Tacky Holiday Sweater" T-shirt.
"I think it's one of those things where if you come to see one or two games, you'll want to come back for more," Tyndall said. "We're certainly going to need the fans this year more than ever to help us be what we talked about all season, the most overachieving team in college basketball."
The most exciting offer available to fans of both the Vols and Lady Vols is the Big Orange Ticket. For $30, you get a ticket to the game of your choice. If UT wins the game the ticket is purchased for, Big Orange Ticket fans receive a ticket to the next home game. If UT continues to win, Big Orange Ticket fans will continue to receive each subsequent game ticket until a loss takes place at home. Fans can purchase at any point in the season. If a loss occurs, fans can pick right back up and purchase the Big Orange ticket for the next game.
"In creating the mini-plans for the upcoming basketball season, we wanted to improve the fan experience and reward Vol Nation for their support," Tennessee Assistant Athletics Director for Sales & Marketing Jimmy Delaney said. "And, well, we wanted to have a little bit of fun with the `tacky holiday' t-shirt."
In addition to the Big Orange Ticket, there are other new promotions for Lady Volunteer fans as well.
The Coke Six Pack is back and includes a ticket to marquee match-ups this season against Stanford, Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Fans can select lower level tickets to three of the four holiday games with the Pick 3 Holiday Pack. For $45, fans pick three games from Wichita State, Stanford, Oregon State and Missouri The first 500 fans to purchase a Holiday Pack receive a Lady Vol Basketball scarf.
For games against Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State and Oregon State, Lady Vol fans can score a Four Point Play with four tickets and four $8 concession vouchers for just $60.
The Volunteer State Pack will give the first 500 fans that purchase a reserved 300 level ticket an orange "This is a Volunteer State" t-shirt.
"We also wanted to provide variety to the fan base, we understand that each member of Big Orange Country may have a different motivation for attending basketball games," Delaney said. "These packages give that variety, from concessions savings to flexibility of picking the games."
Fans can contact the ticket office at 865-656-1200 or log on to UTTix.com starting Tuesday to take advantage of these special ticket offers.
