TENNESSEE TIDBITS
- This weekend marks the start of the 2013 season for the Lady Vols, who are coming off the program's 21st 20-win season.
- The Orange & White posted a 22-8 overall mark, a 15-5 record in league play and made its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
- Tennessee is opening on the road for the first time since 2008. UT has characteristically gotten off to a good start in season openers, with a 31-9 record all-time.
- Since 2001 - when the Big Orange really began playing matches in August - UT is 32-5 in the month, including a 17-1 mark at home.
- Rob Patrick, now entering his 17th season as head coach, has made nine NCAA appearances with the Lady Vols, including the current stretch of five straight.
- Tennessee welcomes nine newcomers to the 2013 squad, including five freshmen.
- Tennessee has won six consecutive season openers, dating back to 2007. UT is 8-0 all-time when opening the season at home.
