James Madison Defeats Longwood 5-0

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- After a 31-minute rain delay, Jailyn Ford stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and delivered for the James Madison softball team lacing a grandslam down the leftfield line and helping the Dukes to a 5-0 shutout of Longwood.
With the win, James Madison moves to 42-15 on the season and keeps their NCAA Tournament chances alive in the elimination game. They move on to face NC State in the final game on Saturday, another elimination game.
Ford also pitched seven innings of shutout ball for the Dukes registering five strikeouts and allowing just four hits.
Longwood finishes its 2013 season with a 41-19 record.
