UT's Canadian Duo Headed To Semis

COVENTRY, England - Tennessee alums Rhian Wilkinson and Marie-Eve Nault are officially in medal contention. The UT duo's Canadian team shut out host Great Britain, 2-0, on Friday at Coventry at the City of Coventry stadium to advance to the 2012 Olympic semifinals.
Jonelle Fliningo (12th minute) and Christine Sinclair (26th minute) combined to give Canada a 2-0 lead before halftime. Rhian Wilkinson and Nault each played the full 90 minutes, shoring up Canada's defense.
Canada will next face the U.S. in the Olympic semifinal round on Monday, Aug. 6, at 2:45 p.m. ET. Follow the action live online at NBCOlympics.com.
In Newcastle upon Tyne, England, the 2012 Olympic journey for incoming Tennessee freshman Hannah Wilkinson came to a close as her New Zealand team fell in quarterfinal play to the vaunted U.S. team, 2-0, at St. James' Park.
Seeing action in against Great Britain, Brazil and the U.S., Hannah Wilkinson totaled 248 minutes of play with two shots and one shot on goal. Before she arrives on campus in September, she will represent New Zealand in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Japan from Aug. 19 through Sept. 8.
