UT Soccer Ranked No. 21 In NSCAA Poll

NSCAA/Continental Tire Rankings
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Tennessee soccer team has returned to the national rankings. The NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's Rankings released its Week 2 poll on Tuesday with UT at No. 21.
Tennessee was last ranked in the NSCAA/Continental Tire poll on Oct. 18, 2011 when the Lady Vols were No. 24. This week's No. 21 ranking is UT's highest since it was ranked No. 19 in the Oct. 11, 2011, poll.
UT was receiving 81 votes (technically 27th) in last week's NSCAA rankings.
Tennessee is off to its best start in program history through with a perfect 4-0 record to open the season. The Lady Vols have posted three shutout wins in their first four games with just one goal allowed - both are program records.
Tennessee also entered the rankings in the Soccer America poll for the first time this season at No. 25.
This past weekend, UT enjoyed two wins in the First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic. Tennessee took a thrilling 1-0 victory over William & Mary on Friday off Caroline Brown's double-overtime penalty kick. On Sunday, the Lady Vols shut down VCU, 2-0.
UT opens a three-game road swing this weekend. The team will play at Kennesaw State on Friday at 7 p.m. before heading to California the following weekend for games at Cal State Northridge and UCLA.
