PLAYER SPOTLIGHTBobby Majors
Tailback/Def.Back/Punter (1969-71)
Bobby Majors could do everything in a football uniform. Majors returned punts all three years of his varsity career, setting school records for career punt returns with 117 and career punt return yardage with 1,163. He also returned kickoffs his AllAmerican year with a 30.1-yard average, the third highest in the program's history. Majors completed his special teams threat by punting for the Vols in 1970 and 1971. But the defensive backfield was where Majors flourished. His set the school record with 10 interceptions in 1970.
WHY I WORE THE NUMBERJerry Smith

Today, I mark all my golf balls 44 & try to only use #4 balls when I play. I got a hole-in-one on April 20 at Avalon Lettermans Golf course and it has #44 on it & is #4 Bridgestone." Tweet @Vol_Football to let us know who your favorite player to wear No. 44 with the Vols was.
