Volunteer Spirit: Brazzell Brothers Partner With Second Harvest Food Bank
November 14, 2025 | Football
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Chris and Colin Brazzell will don their "Volunteer Spirit" Smokey Grey uniforms for Tennessee football Saturday in Neyland Stadium. The two brothers put that defining UT pillar to action Thursday afternoon as they volunteered two hours to the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee's mobile food drive.
Together, they joined their parents, Chris and Monique Brazzell, in loading boxes of meals, turkeys and other food items in the mobile pantry line at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The generous support distributed over 38,000 pounds of food and will feed over 600 families this Thanksgiving holiday.
"After being here for two years, it means a lot to give back to the Knoxville community," Chris said. "Being able to help people out is always rewarding, especially this time of year."
"Knoxville is like a family, and a whole bunch of love," Colin said. "We just wanted to make sure we could give back to the community."
Their father, Chris, was drafted in 1998 by the New York Jets and spent time with the Dallas Cowboys before a prominent career in the CFL. The Midland, Texas, native family has made this an annual tradition this time of year and in the summer at their local church. On Saturday, Chris and Monique will be in their Neyland Stadium seats watching both of their sons.
"For them to be young men, and they still want to do these type of things that you instilled in them when they were young, you don't have to push them now," Monique said. "They are calling you and saying 'hey we have this going on, we want you and dad to come down and be a part of it.' It just makes us happy."
The Brazzell brothers are also continuing their giving spirit with a fundraiser through Second Harvest Food Bank. Fans can donate at this link. Donations will be collected until Nov. 20, and the proceeds will go to providing critical nourishment to individuals and families across their 18-county service area. Every $5 donation is an entry to win an autographed football.Â

On the field, Chris has proven to be one of the nation's top receivers. A candidate for the Biletnikoff Award, Brazzell leads the SEC in receiving yards per game (89.8) and touchdown catches (8). With three more regular season games remaining, he's knocking on the door of 1,000 receiving yards with 808 through nine contests. Against current ranked teams, Brazzell ranks third in the nation in both receiving yards (311) and touchdowns (3).
