Gibson, USA Win Two On Saturday

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Lady Vols infielder Lauren Gibson helped Team USA to pair of wins on Saturday in the World Cup of Softball VII. Gibson had a hit in the win over the Netherlands and drove in a run in the victory over Canada.
The Eagles opened the day with a 2-1 win over the Dutch by virtue of a Valerie Arioto homer in the sixth inning. Gibson went 1-for-3 in that win as she started, hit second and played second base.
In the nightcap, Gibson was a late-inning replacement as USA pounded Canada, 9-0. Gibson had an RBI on a sacrifice fly.
Team USA, which is 4-0 heading into Sunday's action, will play Brazil at 1 p.m., in a game that will be televised on ESPN2.
The Championship game which will pit the No. 1 and No. 2 seed will be played on Monday at 9 p.m., in ESPN2.
